X6 Rivalling 'Porsche Cayenne Coupe' In The Works

After recent rumours, a credible report has emerged about a BMW X6 rivalling Porsche which could be called the 'Cayenne Coupe'. Serving as a sportier alternative to the Cayenne, Porsche has already hit late-stages in the design process. The Cayenne Coupe won't be arriving any time before 2018 but will be built on a revamped MLB platform. The next Cayenne will also share the same platform.

Porsche sources claim the Cayenne Coupe "will be an evolution of that seen on today's second-generation Cayenne." Expect the Cayenne Coupe to have a sleek roofline and general styling inspired by the 918 Spyder. The Cayenne Coupe will probably be priced around 15-20% higher than the Cayenne SUV and will possibly share the same variants.

What do you think about this? Is this the right way for an automaker like Porsche to go?

Porsche is a company that fills a segment with a car, and it always ends up being the best car in the segment. (Macan, Panamera, Cayenne)

Noooooo!

Porsche was the last German manufacturer I respected for not doing that bullshit. How form always followed function for them. As much criticism as the Panamera gets for being "ugly" (I actually quite like it) it's because they decided to not punish the rear seat passengers with diminished head room like the 6-series from BMW, or the Audi A7/S7/RS7, etc.

I respected them for making that choice.

It's like they actually know what they hell they're doing! Even if they do put the body of the 911 on the chassis backwards.
